How Do I Clean My Torpedo Heater
tcmtech pretty much outlined what you need to do to go on a forced air kero heater running. Kickoff with keeping information technology make clean. Then keep information technology clean. Did I mention go on information technology clean? 
Besides the regulator, the intake filter for the air pump besides likes to clog with dust...the pump vanes are carbon and as they vesture the carbon grit cruds up the pump and regulator assembly.
The injector nozzle will clog upwards, just like on a diesel fuel engine likewise. Information technology's low-pressure level so information technology'll requite you poor atomization much easier than a diesel engine injector though.
You need a good depression-psi pressure gauge to adjust the injector (air pump) pressure...just guessing will cost a lot of time and smoke/fumes in the shop.
Use fresh kero in em. #1 Diesel is cheaper...but information technology doesn't burn clean. "Skunked" kerosene from last twelvemonth...or lord knows when...stinks fifty-fifty worse than diesel fuel.
The heaters are jetted from the factory to burn down kero. You tin fine-tune the pressure setting (A/F ratio) so that diesel will fire a piddling cleaner but it all the same isn't quite as skilful as kero.
95% of the units out there are/were made by DESA (Knipco, Reddy, all the ag-equipment branded ones, etc). Most of em are even so parts available units likewise. the exceptions that I've run across are some of the older ones having obsolete ignition boxes. Those ignitor boxes can be upgraded to the new style hands though.

About of the guys around here take swithced to propane forced air heaters merely I notwithstanding get probably a dozen or and so come through my store each fall/winter. Nearly of em just need fresh fuel and a filter cleaning to get em running decent once more.
